“The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.” – Thomas Edison
Chinese Medicine is a system of holistic health care that has been in existence for more than 3,000 years. It encompasses acupuncture, herbal medicine, diet therapy, massage techniques, and qigong. It works by guiding the body back to its natural state of balance. Acupuncture promotes circulation of blood and energy through the body. Needles are thin and generally painless. Inserted into specially selected acupoints they can assist in pain relief or bring healing to internal or external health concerns. Stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue, back pain, arthritis, headaches, allergies, insomnia, PMS, infertility, menopausal symptoms, IBS, and gastritis are just a few of the conditions it can treat.
My emphasis is on helping patients achieve their best possible health. Using a combination of acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle changes, I can often not only help with persistent conditions, but also improve a patient’s general well being and happiness.
In contrast to some Western approaches that focus only on an isolated condition, my practice emphasizes a patient’s total health and well-being. The idea is to treat not only the current condition, but also look for underlying causes that keep a patient from truly living well and being well. I am interested in the interplay of emotional and physical life, and how they work together in the prevention of dis-ease in the body. Learn more about the conditions the acupuncture can treat.
